Lantern Light Restoration
I picked this beautiful old ship’s lantern from a friends workshop down in Portsmouth, Hampshire. It was green, all the glass had fallen out and it was looking very sorry for itself. I spent several hours cleaning, polishing, and restoring the metalwork. I refitted the Fresnel lens glass, gave it a full rewire, PAT test and a final polish. I was very pleased with the result, with the lantern restored to its former glory.
